Unit 3 – My personal flag: Step 2

Task 1

Look at Mia's flag and read her introduction

This is my flag. In the center there is a glowing sun which is a symbol of energy and light. The blue background reminds me of the sea. The small island with palms stands for peace and tranquility. But I also like cities, communicating and sharing my thoughts and feelings. That's why I have also placed a heart in each corner of my flag.

You can listen to to her introduction once again:

  • Now it's your turn! Draw your own flag with colors and symbols (no text!) or use your flag from »Step 1». Don't put your name on it!

Task 2

Describe your flag

Write a short description, as Mia has done, and explain why you used certain colors and symbols.

Text example: "This is my flag. In the center there is a glowing sun which is a symbol of energy and light. The blue background reminds me of the sea. The small island with palms stands for peace and tranquility."

You can write your text on paper.

Task 3

Present your flag

  • Put your flag on a wall, a table, or on the floor.
  • When all members of your group have placed their flags: One flag is chosen.
    • Who can guess to whom the selected flag belongs?
  • When it is guessed correctly, the creator of the flag reads the description aloud.
