Sorting the icons
Needs can be displayed in different ways. Look at the pyramid of needs by Abraham Maslow below. Maslow's hierarchy of needs is a motivational theory in psychology comprising a five-tier model of human needs, often depicted as hierarchical levels within a pyramid.
- Below you find icons that represent different needs. Drag the icons into the most appropriate category in the pyramid of needs.
- Some icons could fit into more than one category. Let's look at the mobile phone:
- Safety need: the smartphone is a resource
- Love and belonging: The smartphone helps you stay in touch with friends and family
- Esteem: The smartphone is sometimes a status symbol. It can provide a certain freedom
- For these icons, decide for yourself, where they best fit in your case.
