Task 1

Choosing your professional field

Look at the professional fields again. Which field and professional occupation attracts you the most? Do you already have a favorite field?

  • Choose a professional field or fields. If you are undecided, try to narrow the choices down to two potential fields. Click on the [+] if you need more information about a particular field.
  • What kinds of jobs are available in this field? If you don't know any occupations within your professional field of interest, go back one step and read about fitting jobs in the discussion group. If you have worked in a group before: Look at the posters.
  • You can also search the internet to find jobs within a certain professional field.

Task 2

Providing explanations

Review the posters with the job examples or the suggestions from the discussion group in «Step 1».

  • Write down which job you might like on a sheet of paper.
  • Describe what you like about this occupation and professional field.

Task 3

Comparing your preferences

  • Find a partner and compare your preferred professional fields and occupations. Discuss the reasons for your preferences.
    • One of you starts to read and the other one listens.
    • If you want to know more, you may ask questions about your partner’s preferred job. Then, switch roles.
    • Discuss your insights together in a larger group or in class.
  • If there is no partner, look in the discussion group below and add your feedback by commenting to a post.
  • Publish your reasons from Task 2 and answer the other participants’ questions to your post.
