Teaching English Toolbox
Using the World and Classroom Partnerships

An important part of public school education is not just teaching "content" but giving learners experiences they may not get in their private lives and opening doors to them for important memories and ideas that might give the ideas for their futures. We all remember school field trips! So why not use English (or French or Romansh or Italian) for this in Switzerland?
Museums
The Swiss Museums in Language Education project offers ideas for using museum in general as well as specific museums in Switzerland. You can join their mailing list to stay informed - there will be many good ideas on there for your EN, FR, IT and DE teaching.

Classroom Partnerships

Remember the days of pen pals? Well, they still exist, but in many different forms!
You might think about the following questions:
- In what ways might having an audience enhance learning?
- How can classroom partnerships and exchanges be conducive to learning, even with beginners in English?
- What evidence suggests that such collaborations have a sustainable effect on language and general learning?
- In what ways can Tik Tok, Snapchat, Instagram and company be used for English language learning in primary school? Should they be?
